Summary:

Chess Academy (CA) plays 2 systems of votechess games: Regular system and Canadian system. Unless indicated, assume the game is Canadian system and ask for clarification. In Canadian system, only "voters" (those rated 1700 and lower) may submit votes although all players may suggest moves/voice opinions. Submitting votes does not take place until the Team Captain calls the move. In Regular system, all players may submit a vote after Team Captain has called the move.

The objective of CA votechess games is LEARNING -- not winning. Sometimes, an inferior move will be chosen if it leads to further learning. All players are expected to keep track of the discussions and all moves suggested must come with an explanation. This includes "obvious" moves and reasons as what is obvious to a grandmaster is not necessarily obvious to a beginner.
