I've played chess since I was a kid.  I've played in several tournaments, winning at least one U1200 tournament.  I coached a chess program for a local Christian School for several years and enjoyed working with lots of young people teaching many beginner that were brand new to chess and those that did I was able to get their rating up if they had one several hundred points.  I did formal chess training for a time over the internet by a master, but work and life made it hard for me to put the time in that was necessary.  I now am a Merit Badge counselor in Chess for the boy scouts and work with young people verifying they know foundational principals of chess to get their badge.  I hope I get to sit across the board from you soon!
