Hi! My name is Marco Pacheco Vivanco (41), psychologist, international master and FIDE Trainer.

Since 2001, many of the leading peruvian chess masters have been trained by me: GM Jorge Cori, GM Cristhian Cruz, GM Kevin Cori, GM Brian Escalante, WGM Deysi Cori, IM Fernando Fernandez, IM Jonathan Cruz, IM Diego Cuellar, IM Gonzalo Quirhuayo, WIM Luciana Morales, WIM Ingrid Aliaga, WIM Aleyla Hilario, FM Mario Arias, FM Breiner Correa, FM Renzo Rengifo, FM Steven Rojas. Currently, IM Diego Flores Quillas (18) -with the 3 GM norms- is my best student. Moreover, I worked with WIM Ivette García Morales, mexican champion and streamer that is well known.
Since 2022 and until now, I am the head coach of the Peruvian Chess Federation, besides I worked in two other periods helping my federation: 2006 and 2013-2018. During those years, we won South American, Pan American, Continental and World Championships.
My last success as a coach was with my student Luciana Arenas (WCM) who achieved first place in the U15 Pan American School Championship that was held in Paraguay (2024), achieving the gold medal and the WFM title. Luciana started training with me two and a half years ago, so she was able to progress from 1300 and reach 1900 on the next list.

In addition, I was the peruvian captain at the Turin 2006 (Open), Chennai 2022 (Women) and Budapest 2024 (Open) Olympiads. Also coach of the olympic teams in Chennai and Budapest.
