Anand Dominates World In Historic Game
The biggest chess game in history has concluded. In just 24 moves, GM Viswanathan Anand convincingly defeated nearly 70,000 opponents in the game known simply as Vishy vs. the World.

The spiritual successor of a Kasparov vs. the World game in 1999 that saw 50,000 participants, in the end Vishy vs. the World was joined by 68,969 players.

Interestingly, just as in Kasparov vs. the World, the world team made the first novel opening move of the game... and both new moves were good! Unfortunately for the world team, this time the game did not last much longer. Anand had decided to learn from Kasparov's experience against the world, which must have helped Vishy win so much more quickly.
IM Tania Sachdev, IM Sagar Shah, FM James Canty, and IM Kostya Kavutskiy all agreed to serve as coaches for the world team, but that ultimately wasn't enough for the massive world team to manage an upset.
Vishy vs. the World may be over, but not before leaving its impact on social media, especially Reddit, where the community was regularly engaged. Should there be any future world matches, the stage has been set for another successful contest.
